Directors at Large contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of All Aboard Ohio. They participate actively in Board meetings, serve on committees, and assist with statewide initiatives, events, and outreach. Unlike Regional Directors, they are elected by the full membership rather than by region. Directors at Large bring diverse skills and perspectives to the Board, helping to advance the organization’s mission and maintain strong collaboration across the state.

Communications & Marketing Intern

The Communications/Marketing Intern will help shape how All Aboard Ohio tells its story across digital platforms. This role involves creating and scheduling social media content, drafting blog posts and newsletters, and supporting media outreach and branding efforts. Ideal for strong writers and visual storytellers, this internship offers the chance to build a professional portfolio while contributing to real-world advocacy. Interns will work closely with staff and board members to deliver engaging content that strengthens public awareness and support for passenger rail.

Policy Intern

The Policy Intern will support All Aboard Ohio’s advocacy efforts by researching transportation policy, tracking legislation, and preparing materials for decision-makers and the public. This role is ideal for students with an interest in public policy, political science, or urban planning. Interns will analyze current issues, draft summaries, and contribute to coalition-building campaigns, gaining experience at the intersection of policy, transportation, and community impact. Opportunities to engage with public officials and advocacy leaders are a key part of this internship.

Nonprofit Operations Intern

The Nonprofit Operations Intern will assist with the behind-the-scenes functions that keep All Aboard Ohio running - from event planning and fundraising to internal communications and donor outreach. This role is a great fit for those interested in nonprofit management, administration, or development. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting campaigns, maintaining records, and assisting with grants or board activities. The internship offers a close-up view of how mission-driven organizations operate and grow their impact.

TikTok Manager

Be AAO's TikTok presence day to day. This role handles posting, comment moderation, and audience engagement, working closely with our content creators to keep the account active, responsive, and growing.

Graphic Design Team Member

Join AAO's graphic design team to create Instagram content and communications materials on brand. You'll work closely with the communications team and help shape where the AAO brand goes next.

TikTok Content Creator

Bring passenger rail and transit advocacy to TikTok. We're looking for a creative volunteer or intern to script, shoot, and edit short-form video that makes transportation policy feel fun, urgent, and shareable. Your content will also be repurposed across AAO's other platforms.

Public Engagement Process Researcher

Track down the public comment periods, hearings, and government processes where AAO members can make their voices heard. You'll work with our Volunteer Coordinator and communications team to help us show up prepared and on time.

Facebook Manager

Keep AAO's Facebook page active and engaging. Post updates, grow our community, and connect with supporters across Ohio as the day-to-day voice of our largest social platform.

Community & Business Outreach Researcher

Help AAO identify engaged businesses and community members across Ohio's legislative districts. Your research will grow our base of local allies and relationships statewide. One to two positions available.

Fundraiser

Represent AAO to funders. Build relationships with foundations, businesses, and individual donors, and help grow our base of financial support across Ohio.

Fundraising Researcher

Volunteer Coordinator

Statehouse Advocacy Researcher
