Advocates, Policymakers, and Community Leaders Unite to Push for Expanded Passenger Rail in Ohio

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Columbus, OH – All Aboard Ohio will host its Passenger Rail Day of Advocacy on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Ohio Statehouse. This significant event aims to unite transportation advocates, elected officials, and community leaders to emphasize the urgent need for the expansion of passenger rail services throughout the state.

The event will span the entire day and will conclude with a reception at 5:00 PM in the historic Statehouse Museum Gallery, providing attendees the opportunity to network and engage with policymakers in a conducive and collaborative atmosphere.

What is at Stake?

The expansion of passenger rail is not merely a transportation concern; it is an essential catalyst for Ohio's economic growth, connectivity, and environmental sustainability. As Ohio falls behind its neighboring states in rail development, this advocacy day represents a crucial moment for progress, highlighting the numerous benefits that passenger rail can deliver for residents and businesses.

Who Will Attend?

The event will feature our board members, civic leaders, and local elected officials who are dedicated to promoting rail transportation in Ohio. Our advocates will discuss the various advantages of investment in rail infrastructure, including job creation, alleviation of traffic congestion, and enhanced accessibility to both urban and rural areas.

Why is This Timing Critical?

There is an increasing momentum for both federal and state investments in rail

infrastructure. With emerging funding opportunities and growing public support,

immediate action is imperative. All Aboard Ohio’s Advocacy Day will play a vital role in ensuring that Ohio remains competitive in securing necessary resources and prioritizing a modern, interconnected rail network.

We advocate for better transit and passenger rail throughout the Midwest. Your support helps us.

Something is shifting in Ohio. For decades, passenger rail has lived in conversation, in planning documents, in long-term strategies, and in “someday” language that felt important but distant. The ideas were sound, the case was strong, but the momentum often felt just out of reach.
