Here at All Aboard Ohio, we know the momentum for passenger rail in our state is building, and we aren't the only ones!

Speaking to over 1,000 leaders at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission’s State of the Region event, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood delivered a clear, resounding message regarding passenger rail in central Ohio: "Nobody can stop this... it's going to happen because all the stars are aligned to make it happen."

As highlighted in a fantastic new article by Nathan Hart in the Columbus Dispatch, both the 3C&D corridor (Cleveland-Columbus-Dayton-Cincinnati) and the Midwest Connect route are making steady progress to starting Step 2 of the Federal Railroad Administration’s Corridor ID program.

Why is this so crucial for Ohio's future? As LaHood pointed out, building a comprehensive transportation network is absolutely essential for attracting and retaining the next generation. Young adults want vibrant communities where they have the freedom to travel, commute, and explore without the burden of owning a car.

The tracks are being laid for a more connected, accessible, and economically competitive Ohio. It takes time and hard work, but as LaHood says, "it's worth it."
