Today, we pause to remember Erin Rosiello, immediate past Chair of All Aboard Ohio, whose boundless energy, tenacity, and compassion transformed our organization and inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Erin’s story was one of remarkable breadth: from a champion track and cross-country athlete at Muskingum and Miami Universities to a consummate professional in sales and marketing with Cox Television, iHeart Radio, and ADP/Paychex, she carried herself with grace and purpose in every role. Her time serving the public as the Regional State Manager at Ohio’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation solidified her reputation as a clear communicator and dedicated advocate for her community.

When she became All Aboard Ohio’s Board Chair in 2023, Erin didn’t just lead; she built. In that pivotal year, she recruited a vibrant, diverse board and launched formal board committees. She modernized the organization by integrating online systems for accounting and communications, oversaw the development of AAO’s first professional strategic plan, and helped launch a new statewide educational event series and retreat. Under her leadership, AAO secured its largest-ever single donation of $55,000, achieved a $37,500 matching grant, increased our savings by 700%, and for the first time in years began seeing monthly surpluses. She also forged a statewide coalition of MPOs, officials, and proponents to bring together advocates and planners across the state, united in the mission championed by AAO. Every step she took made AAO stronger, more resilient, and more capable of carrying the mission forward.

Through it all, Erin’s leadership was not rooted in ego but in empathy. She mentored, encouraged, and lifted others even while facing the personal challenge of living with stage IV lung cancer, diagnosed in 2017. Despite this, she thrived, fueling critical advocacy for passenger rail, lung cancer research, and single-payer healthcare. Her fierce spirit, grounded in love for her family, community, and her beloved running shoes, was a vivid example of living intentionally every day.

Her legacy lives on in every one of us whom she encouraged to dream bigger.

Her parents, Freedom Riders David Myers and Winonah Beamer, preceded her in this journey - legends whose legacy of courage surely echoed in Erin’s. She is survived by her partner Pat, daughter Nicole, sisters Robin and Jessica, and her sweet cats, Missy and Brick.

Erin passed away on June 15, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most. Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at John Bryan State Park, Lower Shelter, in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Instead of flowers, her family invites donations to All Aboard Ohio or the Single Payer Action Network - extensions of her lifelong fight for equity, connectedness, and possibility.

Erin encouraged all of us to take on challenges we didn’t think we could handle. She had a gift for seeing potential in people and making them believe in it themselves. That spirit of inspiration, of lifting others, and of building better embodied who Erin was and what she leaves behind.
