All Aboard Ohio’s Cincinnati Chapter hosted A Decade on Track, a celebration of the Cincinnati Streetcar’s first ten years, alongside longtime supporters and advocates this past weekend. The event highlighted the key contributors who brought the streetcar project to life, the system’s impact on OTR, Downtown, and The Banks, and the role it has played in shaping Cincinnati’s modern urban development.

One message came through clearly: we can be proud of the streetcar’s success, but we cannot be satisfied. Cincinnati, and Ohio as a whole, deserves more transportation choices, more connectivity, and more momentum.

Morning Tours: Behind the Scenes of a Modern Streetcar System

The day began with guided tours of the streetcar’s maintenance and operations facility. More than 190 people signed up to get a behind‑the‑scenes look at how each vehicle moves roughly 90 riders every hour. Chris and Lori from the Streetcar team were phenomenal hosts, showcasing the passion and care they bring to this vital Queen City asset.

Guests explored routine maintenance, boarded a streetcar, and even pressed a few buttons from the operator’s seat. Seeing Cincinnatians and visitors, young and old, engage with this symbol of connectivity and redevelopment was inspiring. Streetcars and light rail have deep roots in Cincinnati’s history, and celebrating the return of this infrastructure felt both meaningful and overdue.

Northern Row Celebration: Reflecting on a Decade, Looking Toward the Future

After the tours, All Aboard Ohio partnered with Northern Row Brewery to host a packed celebration featuring speakers who underscored the importance of investing in transportation choices for all.

Former Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory captured the spirit of the day:

Speakers included AAO Board Member Lisa Lorenz, former Mayor Mark Mallory, City Councilmember Evan Nolan, and longtime advocates John Schneider and John Yung. They reflected on how the streetcar has encouraged more people to live, work, and spend time downtown—and how its success should fuel ambitions for expansion.

A New Generation of Transit Champions

The work of the 2010s brought the streetcar back to Cincinnati and helped spark transformational development in the urban core. Now, the baton passes to a new generation of advocates ready to expand on that success, deliver more transportation choices to more neighborhoods, and strengthen connectivity for all Cincinnatians.
