About the event
For our November statewide meeting, we are excited to welcome two guest speakers who will be providing updates on the status of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in their cities and the benefits it can bring to Columbus and Cleveland.
Our guest speakers for this meeting include:
- Joe Shaffer Director of Engineering and Project Management, Greater Cleveland RTA
- Kimberly Sharp, Senior Director of Development, COTA
This is going to be an opportunity to ask about how BRT will be paid for, what benefits it can bring to the community, how to get involved in the feedback process, and more.
With Ohio’s current density, most of our communities do not qualify for federal funding for light or heavy rail. BRT is going to be the start of better rapid transit, which Ohio can use to continue to build density around rapid transit to qualify for rail funding in the future!
