Communications & Marketing Intern
Organization: All Aboard Ohio
Location: Remote (Ohio-based applicants preferred, but not required)
Type: Unpaid Internship (Academic credit available upon request)
Duration: 10–15 weeks | Approx. 8–10 hours per week
Position Summary:
All Aboard Ohio is seeking a creative and motivated Communications Intern to support our public outreach, messaging, and member engagement. This intern will help tell the story of why public transportation and passenger rail matter to Ohioans by creating compelling content and supporting strategic communications initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design, create and schedule social media posts across AAO platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
● Draft and edit blog posts, press releases, newsletters, and campaign materials
● Assist with event promotion and outreach campaigns
● Track media coverage and public mentions of AAO
● Support updates to the website and email campaigns
● Collaborate with board and staff to ensure consistent branding and messaging
Preferred Qualifications:
● Strong written communication and editing skills
● Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
● Experience with Canva, Adobe, or other design tools is a plus
● Interest in transportation, advocacy, public policy, or journalism
● Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
