The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) held their bimonthly meeting on Thursday, November 14, providing encouraging updates on the two Ohio-sponsored Corridor ID projects. HDR, Inc. is serving as ORDC's consultant on both projects, ensuring expert guidance and strategic planning.

Progress on the 3C&D and CTD Routes

The Cleveland-Columbus-Dayton-Cincinnati (3C&D) route is making significant strides, with ORDC recently submitting Task 1.1 - the Project Performance Plan - to the Federal Railroad Administration. This submission marks a crucial milestone, with the completion of Step 1 expected by April or May of next year.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland-Toledo-Detroit (CTD) route is progressing steadily, albeit a few months behind the 3C&D route. The completion of Step 1 for the CTD route is anticipated by June or July of next year.

Optimistic Outlook for Passenger Rail Service

These developments align with our optimistic timeline for introducing passenger rail service by the end of the decade. The proactive efforts of ORDC and their collaboration with HDR, Inc. highlight the commitment to enhancing Ohio's transportation infrastructure.

We will continue to keep you informed with the latest updates from ORDC as they become available. Stay tuned for more exciting news on Ohio's journey towards a robust passenger rail network.
