About the event
Our March statewide meeting will take members behind the scenes of the Corridor Identification and Development (Corridor ID) program, the complex, collaborative process that moves new passenger rail corridors from early concept to federal review.
We’ll be joined by Elliot Lewis of AECOM, formerly with MORPC, who played a key role in developing the Midwest Connect corridor proposal. While the City of Fort Wayne serves as the official project sponsor, Elliot worked closely with regional partners to navigate the technical analysis, multi-state coordination, and strategic positioning required to advance a corridor application.
This session will provide a practical look at what Corridor ID planning actually entails, from stakeholder alignment and data development to the political and procedural considerations that shape how proposals are presented to the Federal Railroad Administration.
