AAO Statewide Meeting

Exciting progress is being made on a key project by Amtrak that aims to improve train services in the Chicago area! The Chicago Hub Improvement Program (CHIP) will help make train travel faster, safer, and more dependable for the growing number of passengers in the Midwest. This initiative will enhance regional and long-distance train services, connect important job locations, and help reduce our impact on the environment.

In our upcoming presentation, we’ll share updates on the improvements planned for Chicago Union Station and the overall infrastructure. Some of these projects are getting close to starting construction, while others are still in the early planning stages. We’ll also discuss how we plan to fund these improvements and work with local agencies, including Amtrak's potential applications for new federal grants coming up this fall.
