More than any other time in the history of Ohio: the time for passenger rail is now
Transit Progress Needs All of Us
2025 will be a big year for transit and passenger rail in the Midwest and Ohio. It's so important that All Aboard Ohio, your advocate, has the means to advocate for all Ohioans.

In 2025 transportation budgets are being updated, Ohio could join the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission, we'll be entering phase 2 of the Corridor ID program for establishment of 4 passenger routes in Ohio, and we'll be opening more AAO chapters in Ohio!
We're passionate about bringing better transit and passenger rail to Ohio. Your donation ensures that we continue to have the resources to advocate for Ohio communities like we have been for the last 50 years.
Read about our accomplishments and goals below.
In 2024 - 4 Corridors Were Announced for Passenger Rail Development
The Corridor ID Program from the Federal Railroad Administration announced multiple routes in Ohio that are now in phase one development work.

We must continue showing public support to keep these routes progressing!

Also 2 potential long-distance Amtrak routes were announced that pass through Ohio. We're excited to push for these routes that improve connectivity to our surrounding states.
In 2024 We Introduced Our New Executive Director!
Seasoned rail advocate, John Esterly, joins All Aboard Ohio
"I am honored to join the team at All Aboard Ohio and look forward to working tirelessly to promote the importance of rail transportation and advocate for the needs of passengers across the state. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected Ohio."
It's been a hit with perspectives, news, and storytelling for our Ohio rail community. Keep an eye out for even more quality transit news in the next year of All Aboard Ohio.

In 2025 We're Preparing For A Lot More!
It's going to be a big year. Here's why:
The 2025 Ohio Transportation Budget is coming up. We’re advocating for:
-
Funding for the bipartisan Midwest Intercity Passenger Rail Coalition.
-
Creating a dedicated Office of Passenger Rail in the Ohio Department of Transportation.

We're also providing feedback on approved transit funding implementations like LinkUs.
There are new lawmakers in Ohio to educate on transportation funding.
We're Opening new chapters in 2025 following recent Toledo expansion and Dayton startup.
We continue coalition building with officials in all levels of government.
We're growing our inter-organization partnerships: as a state org we’re connecting with other state orgs and doing more with city transit advocacy groups.
We're continuing to support underway studies for upcoming Amtrak routes 3C + D, DTC, Cardinal, Midwest Connect and all kinds of progress related to the Corridor ID program.
Our 2025 Goal:
ACCELERATING BETTER PUBLIC TRANSIT IN THE MIDWEST
In 2025 - We're Studying Economic Impact!
We're funding a $26,000 fiscal analysis study to understand how passenger rail will benefit the state of Ohio and it's communities.
The 2021 federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act allocated funds for expansion of Amtrak. The agency has signaled Ohio as a priority for expansion, with an interest in connecting the cities of Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton. For this expansion to take place, the state of Ohio must agree to terms, including splitting future operation costs down the road.
In February of 2023, the DeWine administration announced plans to apply for federal money to study the feasibility of expanding Amtrak service in Ohio. Legislative and executive leaders are now deciding whether to support the second and third phases of expansion.

Scioto Analysis will provide All Aboard Ohio and Lawmakers with fiscal analysis of passenger rail on the State of Ohio with potential to make a big impact in the statehouse.
